Its been a stressful week and I’m late in writing this blog post. I ‘ve made a commitment to myself that I would post twice a week so that I am more consistent in my writing. I’ve recently been working on follow through and consistency and I’ve had some positive results so far especially around my blogging. I feel that things are more in a state of flow for me and I don’t have to think about making myself write anymore, I just naturally want to do more of it and I attribute this to the commitment I made to myself not too long ago around doing more things that bring me joy.
I have recently been confronted with the suggestion of writing posts that only are congruent with my coaching niche. Since I’ve launched my coaching business its been quite overwhelming especially all the digital marketing stuff! OMG, Is what I wana say! So much information to absorb. So, what do I really want to say in my blogs? I find myself asking these questions. What is the purpose of my blog? Who are my readers? Who am I writing for? What do I want to write about? All valid questions when becoming a blogger. Right? Well, I write for two reasons. One, because it brings me joy, and two, in the event that I may be of help and or bring inspiration to someone else.
I am a professional certified coach who works with women in order to help them cultivate self love and self worth so that they may begin to make more healthier relationship choices. This idea of committing myself to taking specific action in promoting more joy in my life is a major key aspect I teach in my coaching practice. It’s one way to enhance self love. It’s a simple idea, but not so easy to implement. It takes practice and commitment like I said. What are the rewards of making commitments to ourselves that include specific positive action? Well, Personal fulfillment, personal happiness, personal freedom and personal power are a few that come to mind.
The dilemma I’m having at the moment is , should I incorporate my personal journey as well or do I need to specifically tailor my blog to the professional and educational side of relationship coaching? What Im thinking is that I can incorporate both personal and professional aspects in my blog. I want to be able to write about personal aspects of my life as well, Its almost like journal writing. There is a sense of personal release I feel while writing so I believe I can include both.
It’s what brings me joy, the freedom of owning my own space in order to be able to write about both personal and professional topics. This is one of the many gifts the internet offers us today and I think its amazing! It’s about authenticity for me. The more real you are with your writing, I believe it will show and people respond to truth and authenticity today more than ever before.
So write about what brings you joy, inspiration and what fills your heart!
