Showing a Little Gratitude…

I’ve been reading a lot of blogs lately and particularly enjoy reading the ones that exhibit vulnerability and honesty. When I started writing my blog and creating my website I really knew nothing about either. Now, after some experience, I am beginning to understand what I really enjoy about blogging and feeling very grateful today for women’s bravery in their writing.

In one of my recent blog posts “Brooding over Blogging I shared my dilemma over what my blog is really about. Is it just professional? Is my intention to target more clients? The answer to that is yes and no. I don’t want my blog just to gain more clients. I want it to be personal as well. My web site is called Growing From the Heart because thats how I experience my life’s journey. I have been growing from the heart since the very beginning, since I’ve always been a person who’s worn my heart on my sleeve.

I want my blog to be equally educational, personal and inspirational with a central theme on relationships! Above all though, writing is an outlet for me just as it is for many other women bloggers I follow and I completely love that idea!

My life experiences are part of what made me want to write and be a relationship coach. Loosing my father at the age of 19, divorcing years later. I am also an addict in recovery, while raising two children.

I am now building an online Coaching Business that I never ever thought I could do. But despite all this, the most difficult thing for me was coming to terms with how low my self esteem had been throughout my life.

In my recovery program I realized that my sense of self worth was rock bottom. On a scale of 1-10 it was minus 100. Completely non existent. This affected my life choices invariably. Especially my relationships. I always associated love with pain. Not physical pain, but emotional pain. I thought the more heartbroken I was , the more love was there. What a crock of shite that turned out to be, but that is for another blog post!

I can now come from a place of gratitude because I really have so very much to be grateful for. Todays short blog is about gratitude. Gratitude for blogging, for my children, my fellows, my family, all the hardships, they brought me to where I am today. I’ve come such a long way and I wanted to take a minute to share my appreciation of all that is in my life. Every hardship is an experience to grow and learn. When I look at my life this way, I can never go wrong!

What are you grateful for today?
